Gas clouds are one of environmental features in Voidspace. Clouds may consist of any type of gas, though only hydrolox clouds occur naturally. Gas clouds can be created by emptying the contents of a fluid tank or other gas container into space.
Collecting gas[]
Gas can be collected using a hand-operated fluid collector. If a fluid collector with a fluid tank in its inventory is equipped in a character's tool slot and turned on, the gas will gradually be siphoned into the tank while the character moves through a gas cloud, until either the tank is full or the cloud is depleted. The collector can not be operated while inside a spaceship, and the collection will not function if the tank already contains a different kind of fluid or gas.
Naturally-occurring gas clouds gradually replenish over time after being siphoned, while player-created ones do not.

Asteroids are surrounded by clouds of dust or ice. These can be experimented on, but not collected.
